I wanted to take the time to thank you for your interest in Bannworth Academies. We are excited that you have come here for more information about our very different school option available at Bannworth Academy. Currently, we are accepting students ages three years old to twelfth grade. 

 

At the time of your request, our enrollment was full. It is at this time that I am happy to interview you about a seat. 

 

We lived the dream, and 2023-2024 we completed our Travel Year!!! This is also the year that we won Best Private School in Florida in the GUIDE TO FLORIDA rankings. What a privilege! We are in the finals for the 2024 Best Private School in Florida. It is our hope to win again. 

 

What is a travel year? We jump on a bus and travel to Museums, Libraries, National Parks, and more every school day. There is no fixed location for school during the travel year and seats are extremely limited for this Learning Expedition. It truly has been an incredible year! We currently have moved into our new location August 1, 2024.

 

But first, a few things about us. We are a Judaic Christian Niche Microschool specializing in Archaeology, Ancient World, and Ancient Language. You may say, “Woah, Woah, Woah, what does all that mean!" Let me break it down for you.

 

A microschool is a school that typically has less than 50 students in total. Because of this, we want to make each seat count and be the perfect fit. We do a Parent Interview as our first step. We provide a specialized experience and want to fill our walls with special people. Prior to the interview, we ask that prospective parents review our Bannworth Academy of Classical Education Facebook page. There are two now, because the first page became locked due to a hacking attempt. But c'est la vie. Give both a perusal.  I feel this really gives an authentic look with photos about what the everyday experience looks and feels like. Sometimes this can be more powerful than any face-to-face interview. 

 

We also teach via multi-tier instruction. This is very similar to the one-room-schoolhouse approach with a schoolmaster. This means we have one room with all grades in it for a multi-tiered instruction. You may say, “How can it be done?” Well, that was the all education was done until about two hundred years ago. It was only in our recent past that we started this experiment in education when you put same-aged students in the same room. There are so many benefits for both the younger and older students. Younger students tend to be more advanced verbally, and older students tend to become leaders and helpers to those younger. It can show you a review of lessons you may be shaky on or a glimpse of more complex lessons to come. I believe in students and their abilities. I believe in challenging the status quo. Learning truly is a fulfilling adventure.

 

When we say that we are a Niche school, that means we teach all subjects - math, history, science, English (including classical literature and classical poetry), and Bible as a core subject. But, we also have an additional class that focuses on the Ancient World Studies year round. 

 

We are a Judaic Christian School. We teach the Old and New Testament equally. We pray multiple times a day and worship the Lord. We celebrate both Jewish and Christian holidays and festivals and teach Hebrew as part of our Bible class. We are the official school for THE SHAKAD OF NEW JERUSALEM JUDEOCHRISTIAN CHURCH. 

 

We also are an Adventure School. We spend time outside exploring. We have a zip line; we climb trees; we play in the woods; we dig holes; we build things. We like to get dirty and experience learning at in the most tangible sense. We can always clean up, but we don’t want to miss a chance to make a lasting memory. We also are certified through a school in Europe for Forest Schooling. We are proudly a Department within BANNWORTH ARCHAEOLOGICAL ADVENTURES. 

 

We provide what is called a Global Education. This means we take the best attributes of schooling practices from all over the world, not just whatever is the norm in America at the time. We take it a step further and choose the best styles throughout time as well (chrono-schooling). In a lot of ways, new students may have a culture shock and need to deschool from an American-style public school education. Because of the Bannworth Instruction Method, we were featured on the national news and in Florida on the Jacksonville Buzz. The interview is available on our website and YouTube, as well as various news outlets.

 

This school is open to students at all levels. Advanced, behind, right on the dot, specialties, you name it. I am an Advanced Level Two Board Certified Autism Therapist and provide Educational Modification Behavior Therapy. 

 

We currently DO NOT accept the state scholarship. I have for many years at my past locations, but at this location I will look at 2025 to open this option. We do offer an in-house scholarship called the CHEOPS SCHOLARSHIP that will lower the price to $99.95 a week. We offer ante and post care. Our current hours are 7:30am-6:00pm. Class instruction is 8:30am-3:00pm. Private tutoring by appointment is available, as well.

 

We are mask optional per the parents’ choice, and we accept Immunization Exemptions both Medical and Religious.
